PLEASURE OVER PERFECTION

PINEAPPLE & PEARLS

menu books on a black background with gold foil and pink paint marker

THE PROJECT

The goal for Aaron Silverman’s Pineapple & Pearls rebrand was to level up the fine dining experience from just fancy to unforgettable. We set out to evoke an experience as spectacular and special as a New Year’s Eve celebration every single night.

THE BRIEF

We infused branded touchpoints that elevate the new concept and menu while respecting the past. Our menu is a book—a love letter to the original restaurant, a compendium rich with history and infused with delightful explanations of the current decor. The pink french folded pages evoke the experience of walking through the interior space, a marriage of physical experience and visual manifestation. The book itself is also flexible and modular in its format and design, primarily serving as the main dining menu but easily hand-scrawled bar menu. The centerfold of the menu is dedicated to diners past and present: guests are encouraged to sign the book and leave a note, much like a guestbook at a celebratory event. The takeaway menu serves two functions: as a piece of memorabilia, but also as a picture frame for a polaroid taken during the dinner experience. Each piece of collateral was thoughtfully designed for maximum remarkability, an unforgettable song where pleasure is paramount to perfection.
